Re: Armortek Open Day

It was a great event and Armortek's first Open Day, hopefully it'll now become an annual event. A big thank you to Mark, Gill and everyone one else who help on the day, great to meet so many new faces and builders. Here are my photos from the open day, 38 models and around 100 owners I think turned ...

Re: History On Wheels Museum

Hi Guy's, Sorry to mess you about, I've just got off the phone with Tony and he thinks it might be best to pull the plug on the club attending the show this weekend. He's still having an open day but due to other project he's working on he's been unable to run the adverts in the local press and rela...

Re: History On Wheels Museum

Just a quick update to mention that the Museum open day is still on for this Sunday 26th Nov at the History on Wheels Museum, I'll speak to Tony Oliver (the Museum owner) today for final confirmation on start time. I'll also post direction details later today, basically it's about 5 minutes from Jun...

Dragon - German Vehicle Maintenance Set

Not sure if you guys like this sort of thing but I reckon the latest Cyber Hobby release from Dragon is a nice addition to any 1/6th vehicle collection: http://pic17.picturetrail.com/VOL836/1542571/12327795/202755843.jpg Shame the Kettenkrad motor in the scene is sold separately. I think a couple se...

Re: Who does the SR4 boards?

Hi Peter, Just to put my point of view across the title of "Animatronics Engineer" is a position which has to be earned within the Film Industry, it's not one that is claimed lightly, people are not considered very highly of if they try and pass themselves of in our industry with a title that hasn't...

Re: Kampfgruppe von Abt - Winter March

Well no one can say you're not dedicated, I'd hate to see what the inside of your car looked like after the trip home?

Great photos John, you've put mine to shame.

Re: Kampfgruppe von Abt - Winter March

Hi Mika, We used around 22 bags of Tesco's finest "Self Raising Flour" in the end, it was easy to work with, cheap and looks pretty convincing. Great backdrop for a winter Tiger and definitely a scene we'll visit again. Thanks Antony, you're welcome to any photos you care to use, I'll sort some out ...

Kampfgruppe von Abt - Winter March

At long last we had the perfect weather for one of our photo shoots last Saturday, probably the best shooting day weather wise since we started setting up dioramas. I’m a huge fan of winter scenes and inspired by some of the previous dioramas from other groups we thought we’d give it a go oursel...

Re: Why Halftracks In The First Place?

My understanding is that semi tracked vehicles were developed due to the steering limitations in brake steering systems on fully tracked vehicles. Semi-tracked vehicles have a much more subtle steering control especially beneficial during road transit. Once the steering limits of the road wheels was...

Re: History On Wheels Museum

Nice one Bryan, that would give the local Press something to write home about, if you can maybe confirm this week as Tony could mention it in the advertisement.

Cheers,
