Re: Unbelieveable!!

Thanks for the info Mark. In that case I was right, it is a REME build (Gosh, I'm proud of myself for thinking of that!) I didn't realise that it was a "misplaced" one that had re-surfaced, thought and hoped that by some miracle it might have been a new find. The post war history of some of the armo...

Re: Unbelieveable!!

Hi,

Just been reading about this. Incredible find. Early G mantlet, but late exhausts and crew heater. Wondering if it is one of the post war REME builds.

Anybody know anything about it? Rivetcounter?

Cheers

Re: Question for you guys

Hi Gary, Its a long time since I bought a new Tam, but the best deal I could get when I bought my Sherman was actually from Mark Spencer. I don't know if he still has his contact in HK, but he might be worth a call. It might also be worthwhile asking the question on the RC Tank Warfare forum as ther...

Re: Remembrance day

Hi Riv, This time of year we go out on Sundays to flog the wifes craft stuff. Last Armistice Day when we were at a craft fair I didn't see a single person stop walking, trading didn't stop and life (except on her stand) continued as normal. I think I made myself slightly unpopular by making several ...

Re: Battle of Britain show

Hi Stu,

Thanks for your good wishes - the elderly fraud is hobbling much better now (hip replacement). Very small family so nobody closer to stop her running around.

Re: Battle of Britain show

Hi Stu, It was a really good weekend. I've got a few pics I will send on to you. I should have done it earlier, but due to family illness I've had to spend a few days t'up north. Thanks to Stu & Rach for organising it. Highlight for me - starting up a 20+ litre V12 late at night, shattering the peac...

Where Are Armortek?

Hi Folks, So there a group of us were in a beer tent in Somerset, trying to ignore the 40's revival weekend around us, particularly the seamed stockings and the conversation came around to what models we wanted to see in the future. As soon as I mentioned Scammell Pioneer a groan of " Oh, yes please...

Re: Battle of Britain show

Hi Stu, Sorry, can't help with gazebos. Best I can do there is the awning on the van, but as I have to have it off site during the day that is not much help! Tables I have. 2 (possibly 3) about 6ft long and sturdy. Do have a slight problem getting there. I am probably the only person in the UK witho...

Re: Battle of Britain show

Hi, Yep, I'll be there. It was in doubt because 'er in drawers wrote our only wheels off. Unfortunately the only vehicle that really suits our needs is a grey import not listed in Glass or the other guides. I directed the guy from the insurance company to the importer I bought the last one from beca...

Hi Andy,

The mini is a good unit and playing with the programming is dead easy with Thomas' software.

Re: Recoil

Hi JD, When I got my 1/8 Panther from Mark it has a central locking unit (motor, gears & geared rack) and it worked reasonably well, but there are a couple of ways of improving it. You can modify the return spring to reduce its loading effect so you get faster recoil, but a slower return You can als...

Re: Any ideas on how to make this?

Hi, Sorry, only just seen this post. If you are assembling it vane by vane it might be worth bodging up a jig that will hold say 5 at a time. That way you could assemble the first few with spacers then move it along 3, do the next 3 and so on. If you get it right the spaces should come out equal. I'...

Re: World War One Tank 1/6

Hi Helen, Years ago there was a German girl on here who scratchbuilt one. Her user name was Blacksonja. I haven't looked, but maybe there are some photos still around. Nice work, might give you some encouragement when things go badly. If not it should be possible to locate her - there can't be many ...
