Photo Manipulation

How many UKTC members have tried inserting their model pics into suitable background photos? I have played around ineptly, and frustratedly but got so so results. But now, thanks to the "PhotoShop" skills of "Into the Blue" from 1-6th Collectors' Club Forum, I've got a whole batch of views of my T34...

Re: Diesel smoke

Hi Tankfan,
In fairness, I think there are a limited number of volunteers with engineering skills at Duxford, and time and funds are probably very limited. I reckon they do well to display 50 year old tanks on the move at all. Hope your Jagd Panther project will progress.

Re: Diesel smoke

I saw the Duxford T34 moving a couple of weeks ago and there was indeed a combination of black, white and blue smoke. (I videoed it on a stills camera but haven't worked out how to upload a mov file yet.) Still experimenting to find the right formula to use in the UKTC type smoke generator.

Interesting Russian site

Check out http://www.weltkrieg.ru/ and use the on line translator - but make allowances for it - eg tower instead of turret. Some good tank data, eye witness memories, photos, and loads of video clips in the section called The Newsreel. In the additional videos section, there are lots of "The Berlin...

Re: More interesting pics

Tanks, pyrotechnics, aircraft blown out of the sky  The Oxford do sounds like a pretty spectacular event Mel. I must look out for that next year. The Stormovik would make a nice model to swoop on the Tigers. As for the B52 crash video, yes, fortunate there wasn't a tragedy with casualties on ...

Re: Turret Radio Problems

Hi Dave. My newish T34 has the same elevation problem and Mark is going to fit a new ESC to try and sort that out. I think Mel's T34 is similarly afflicted. My turret rotation also gets the yips sometimes even with transmitter fully charged, nearby with aerial fully up. It's an intermittant fault an...

Re: Action Figure Show, Loughborough 4.9.05

Well I did get there to join Robert after all. It is true that there isn't enough space inside to let a T34 go at full throttle but, with the assistance of Ade, 1/6 Collectors Club, I manoevered in, put my tank on display, won a tank video in the raffle, and manoevered out without causing major dama...

Re: Action Figure Show, Loughborough 4.9.05

I think it was referred to as a "Panzer Marche"?! I'm still hoping to get there. Noting Mel's comments on the available space at the venue, I have been training by manoevering along a narrow side passage with very tight turns at each end. My T34 is accumulating battle damage and there is collateral ...

Diesel smoke

I have seen previous posts about the benefits of a cider aroma from the soldering iron type smoke generators etc but has any one found a safe mixture to represent nice black diesel smoke rather than the petrol engine exhaust effect of liquid paraffin? I've read that Russian tanks in particular gave ...

Book of Interest

Those with an interest in Shermans may want to seek out "Armoured Guardsman " by Robert BOSCAWEN, a Coldstream Guards Officer in the Guards Armoured Brigade. His tank was brewed up while attempting to cross a canal late in the war and he was badly burnt, but is still alive today I think. At one poin...

Being new to the forum, forgive me if you've seen these before:

Russian Tank Markings - Help!

When I ordered my T34 from Mark, I was intent on finding a picture of one of KATUKOV's tanks at the Battle of Berlin for the paint scheme. I failed that but found a photo in the Zaloga book: "The Eastern Front, Armour Camouflage and Markings" of a T34 with big number 82 and slogan Vpered Na Berlin, ...

Re: Wot no Churchills!

I'll leave you pondering for now Mel.
Ill make a point of investing in a pair of rubber pants and heavy duty bib if I attend a barbie in the future.
Our problem with the Russians may be different. Mine can't get it down! I have to do it manually and turn it off! (Cue smut and innuendo).

Wot no Churchills!

First, as a new boy who gave his T34 its first proper run-out at Mark's Trade Day last week, may I say how much I enjoyed the day and the company? Got lots of useful tips and friendly advice, and even some bits donated to decorate my tank (thanks Bryan.) Interesting group dynamics and banter too. Sh...
