Re: WINGS AND WHEELS JUNE 28th-29th

Robin,

Leaving sharpish on Sunday now means about about 3:30, caused by insane parking arrangements for Elton John. I guess something can be sorted out on Saturday.

Re: TERRIBLE NEWS

I found out just after 7:30 on Saturday with a phone call from Chris (Wittmann), but due to a planned and very hectic weekend I didn't have much information until I spoke to Chris again yesterday, and still don't know much. My understanding is that the family and close friends are coming to terms wi...

Re: TERRIBLE NEWS

I have known Stuart for probably 14 years, a finer bloke you will not find, so for the phone to ring early on Saturday morning and be given that news was devastating. Stuart has been a great friend, a mine of information and a great inspiration , he will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Rest i...

Re: WINGS AND WHEELS JUNE 28th-29th

Robin,

Be there both days but need to get away a bit lively on the Sunday, going to see Elton John in the evening. Both of us will be there on Saturday, just me on the Sunday.

Re: Werkstatt 5

Banging sound system? All you need is what I have, a Bose soundlink mini and some means of playing music via bluetooth. You would hardly notice it on the shelf it's so small, but crank it up and you know it is there, it really thumps the music out. Really must sort out the light in the workshop, mig...

Re: Big Panther Latest

Nice..... Having also bit the bullet and bought a TIG, it is just amazing the work you can do with it. Where I would have been very gingerly welding with MIG or silver soldering, TIG allows me to weld thin sheet and better still, I don't have to grind it or do anything after to make it look like wel...

Re: Matching Green Classic and Sports Car Show

Robin,

As it's not that far from me I hope to be able to join you. Unfortunately, at the moment I can't be sure one way or the other, will post a definative answer nearer the time.

Re: Paint type, yet again

Paint, what a subject. Getting the right colour even from a good paint supplier is close to mission impossible just based on numbers. Any good paint supplier probably has computerised paint mixing so you can pretty much get any colour you like, but whether the colour matches what you wanted or not i...

Re: What's on your bench (winter projects ect)

Nothing new on the bench, just more work on the tiger. Last year I converted from mid to early with as much information as I could find, which was some distance short of everything. So this winter it got some more work and with a bit of good fortune I found the key information I was looking for, a p...

Re: 4QD DMR-203

Hi Andy,

I have a key switch for the ignition in mine. But if I'm totally honest, I could count the number of times I have used it on one hand. Personal choice, but unnessesary.

Re: LONDON MODEL ENGINEER ALLY PALLY FRI JAN17TH-SUN19TH

Robin, As it doesn't look like anyone else will be attending, I'll try and be there on the Friday, shouldn't be a problem. It just means I have to leave pretty early because of the traffic on a Friday on the M11. Pretty sure I can't get there on Thursday to set up, but provided I can get there reaso...

Re: Transport and trolleys

I use a Clarke 300 kg strong arm table with a 1 inch ply board on top to give the extra width. I've also sunk a motor cycle lift in the middle of the board. I can drive the tank on and then if I need the tank off its tracks, just wind up the bike lift. I also use the same ramps as Robin, quad bike r...
