Re: CORRECT WAY TO SET YOUE 2.4GHZ AERIAL

Interesting but not very scientific. To know how to best site the antenna would require an understanding of the radiation pattern. There are 2 basic types of antenna, uni directional which is you common or garden TV antenna, which tends to have a radiation pattern with a large lobe to the front and ...

Re: Damyns Hall 2-4 Aug 2013 - Military and Flying Machines show

Another good show at Damyns hall. Friday was a bit of a flop for the show but the weather perked and so did the crowds. Just wished that when they say they have a Hurrican coming, it has a Rolls Royce Merlin. Just doesn't sound right without.

Thanks for the organization and tea John...

Re: Ebay M-1-T JS2

That sounds like standard Mk-1 wiring. To get a switch to carry that load coud be quite large. The best thing is to use a much smaller switch which activates a beefy relay, normally a 40A automotive relay would do the job. As for wire, I generally use the sort of silicon wire you get from a model sh...

Re: DUXFORD SUNDAY JUNE 16th

Just as well go and ask mickey mouse for a weather forecast. He's got as much chance of getting it right as the met office have.

Be prepared, take waterproofs, snowshoes, warm clothing, shorts and some suncream. That should do the trick.

Re: Big Panther Latest

Those are the chappies. Pretty sure I didn't get it from there, not that it matters.

Howard does get time off, thankfully. He managed to fit in tig welding up a new tool bin for the tiger in a while back. Jolly fine job too, thanks Howard.

Re: Big Panther Latest

I don't remember where the Dc-Dc came from but I know it wasn't Maplin or RS. It was sold by a company that did a lot of radio transmitter and reception equipment for lorries and 24v vehicles, the name escapes me for the moment. It is build into a nice sized heatsink. I use heavy gauge silicon wire ...

Re: TANK LIFT FOR SALE

Robin,

Can't slide it under but if I put it in a recess in the table to take it, loads of room. I was thinking of it more for winter maintenance and taking the weight off the tracks. So that will be perfect. If you take it to Duxford, I'll releave you of it for some money.

Re: Big Panther Latest

Pretty much the same here only I don't have the space of a 1/4 panther, so addtional batteries for 12v would be pretty tight if at all possible. The Turret is a different story as I don't need a lot of power in there so it is possible to squeeze smaller batteries in.

Re: TANK LIFT FOR SALE

Thinking of of it primarily for the tiger and the Pz III. If it fits under them without fouling the wheels and tracks, your on!!

I'll have a measure up when I get home and let you know.
