The New UKTC Forum!

Post by Humpy » Thu Nov 04, 2004 3:29 pm

Hello and welcome to the new UKTC Forum. After many requests for a truly independant Forum here we are with what I hope will become THE rc Forum in the UK. We shall see! Anybody will be able to view posts and anybody who registers (this is to stop the anonymous idiots spoiling it for the rest!) will be able to post, UKTC members or not. If you like what you see then let me know, alternatively if you don't like what you see then let me know that as well. Anyway, comments please.

There seems to be a bit of cheating going on with the ranks on here

Don't worry, I'll keep him in check.

FYI - the ranks are calculated against the number of posts you make on the forum. At the moment the values are set at:

Image Private: 0-9
Image Corporal: 10-49
Image Sergeant: 50-74
Image Lieutenant: 75-149
Image Captain: 150-299
Image Colonel: 300-999
Image Brigadier: 1000-onwards
Image General: Forum Moderator
Image Field Marshal: Forum Admin

They can be adjusted at any time and ranks are limited by the graphics I can find representing each rank i.e. the grenades.

After some discussion we have now removed the Ranks, as the in the UKTC all men are equal, only some are more equal than others :D

Hello!

Post by mailalan » Tue Nov 09, 2004 11:01 pm

Is it okay for tank owners from the United States to join in the fun?

Most of the Armortek fellows know me already. I met several of them at Bovington earlier this year. I'm in Atlanta, Georgia in the states and I own an Armortek Tiger and a 21st Stuart.

I'm glad to see a new RC Tank forum!

Yes but lets try to keep to just one list only. Currently we have the Mark 1 list, the armortek list and this. Whilst I supported the creation of this list we all now need to support it by moving away from the company sponsored lists to this non afiliated list. This is not a lack of appreciation for what Mark 1 and Armortek (in that order) have done for large scale tanking in the UK but a recognition that because of their success it has now grown larger than any one company. Long may it be so and for both of them the bigger it gets the wider the potential purchaser base.

Come on all you other guys get on board!

Great job Stuart, thanks for organizing this forum, I hope it proves to be very popular.

Whats the trick to getting a decent sized Avatar, when I reduce my image to 80x80 Pixels and 6Kb it's not worth looking at?

Vince.
