My name is Will living in North Derbyshire.

Over the years I have built and used a range of Tamiya cars, I have also dabbled in model boats both sailing and electric.

A few years back I worked in a model shop, was fortunate to build a couple of Tamiya tanks for a customer (cannot remember which tanks) but do remember the quality the sound and action.
I did purchase a Heng Long Bulldog which had sounds bb firing and smoke, and having tested the H/L Tiger found them to have toy like sounds and a toy like actions.

I am looking to get back into R/C tanks on a budget, have been looking at a Mato Sherman, the question is have they improved, or how much do I need to spend to get something that is better than my old 27 meg Bulldog.

Many thanks.

Hello Will

Welcome to the club,

Heng long are making some pretty good models lately, they have just released the challenger 2, I've seen a few examples and seem good, and not heard anything bad about it, unfortunately they still have the rubbish sounds but you can get some great upgrades and various metal parts, also a few good soundboards such as Benedini, Elmod, Clarke, available if you want the correct sounds,
Depends how much you want to spend and what level of spec you want to achieve like in any modelling.

But most of the tanks from Heng long, mato and taigen are good as standard.

Crazy... I mean like, so many positive waves... maybe we can't lose, you're on

Hello Trev.

Many thanks for your reply.

My currant budget would be about £150 for the tank, and later on about £100 for upgrades.
