Yup, today was the last meeting and the owners also closed Hereford at the weekend, sighting that both courses are not profitable. The was some suggestion that they had tried to get planning permission for Folkston, but had failed. They suggested that had that the housing may have kept the course open, but the course was mostly used for lower order racing and therefore no big meetings, meaning that the income level wasn't great anyway.

They just said on sky sports that redevelopment plans had been put on hold.

I found several articles about the move

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-20658047

I think between the 2 they make it fairly clear.

September 14th and 15th Robin. Remember there's two shows at Headcorn, the Combined Ops show which we've done for the last two or three years in mid August.

The organisers are talking about holding the show a week or two earlier next year to try and get better weather! As anybody who is born and bred in this country will know, holding a show at any time of the year is not guaranteed with decent weather. We sball have to see but if they do move it and it clashes we may have to make some choices next year...

Apparently the show is going to stay on the middle weekend of September so problem solved.
