Side Vents on CRARRV, previously measured the space available and sized it up on my model before moving out here, so very confident with the dimensions.

Will get these made towards the end of the month....

Should also be getting my Engine beam delivered this week, see attached pictures:-

This is just the beam, the carrier parts, that is used to lift the beam was cheaper to get made via a different method.

I tried building this in styrene but it just p*ssed me off as I couldn't keep the thing square - to the true scratch builders (Dave Dibb and co I salute your skills!).

Some photos of the completed beam when its' assembled when i get all the bits!

PS 1/6th Scale Hollebones ordered, will get them soon........incorporates 5/8" Copper pipe so the whole set will cost about GBP50 ish.

Too right it is mate, I have more parts ordered and are on their way.

The company I use is called ponocko, primarily based in the states for rapid prototyping....not sure how economical it is buying from uk as the postage goes upto 50 bucks per item. But Canada although international is treated like postage to another state!

Will post pictures when available!

Cheers sir!

Just been having a think about me flashing beacon dilemma, I suspect I'm going to design a nod build a modified beacon base to fit a shampoo bottle top, I've seen I think bully do that on his cr2.

I've just purchased a rotating beacon led light module from the states, since my experimental one is still in Aberdeen!

So today I'm going to the shops to hunt for a suitable bottle top ;)

I've also found a perfect 1te winch for the CRARRV, it's for ATV's, I think it's compact enough to be mounted in the superstructure of the CRARRV. I just need some way of limiting the maximum current supplied to the winch to avoid any over pull loading. If things went bad then I could well imagine the winch pulling the wire into the hull.......

Kind of like a dumbed down version of a load cell.

So does anyone know of such a device?

Cheers

Ok so far so good.

Picked up to beacon lens today, pretty close to scale size, below is a photo of the donor product.......

Also purchased some clear paint red and orange....

And voila, ok needs a second coat to harden up the tone, but looks good.

Now to fudge the 3d model to suit the Beacon, and then I'll have an RP parts to try her out on in 3 weeks time ;)
