Paul,

If, as I remember correctly, you have the all in one M-1-T speed controller pack/sound module, it's not as easy as upgrading the sounds alone! If it's just bigger speakers you're after then you could probably hook them up to the existing board but I'd ask Mark (of M-1-T) first just to check what the output available is from the pack.

If you wanted to upgrade the sounds to Benedini then it's time to save up for some more speed controllers and a complete re-wire! Although you could run the Benedini sound system with the existing all in one pack I haven't tried it and wouldn't recommend it. Don't know if anybody else has...?

I have now found out that the ohm impedance for the original speakers is 6.5 so car ones are out as they are 4 but 8 will be uk.I'm just putting in some 18mm mdf to house them.

Hi dude, (if it's the unit that I think you are refering to) the mk1 esc/sound module will require or will run 2x 75watt speakers with an impedance of 8 ohms, physical size around 100 to 130mm dia, we have just installed two chassis speakers which are facing each other in a 100mm plastic sound tube with a total width of around 230mm with very little venting, this gives a very deep basey sound which shakes the ground as the vehicle passes, it's not to everyones taste but for long range recording it's cool.
You can use many other speaker arrangements the unit is very robust just try to keep the impedance at 8 ohms (ie 2x 4 ohms in series etc)
We have just had to send the unit back to the Ruskies for repair as I managed to plug one of the servo lead outputs into or rather across two Spektrum reciever inputs ( which are kin close together) so although I said it's robust do double check everything, if in doubt give mk1 a shout, he knows the things inside and out!

Sounds like a Bose Wave Cannon - quite apt for a tank

hi

my speakers are about 6 inches in dia and are both wired in seperatly to the sealed unit, so 4 wires coming out.I thought about putting a caramp/eq inline as well to boost the sound.
