Cheers Brett.
You're all welcome to any help I can give, all I ask is let me know how things progress please as I'm interested to see how many of these we can get working !!!!!
Wonder if we can get a whole division in service ?????

Noel.
Knowledge is of no value unless it's shared, if you can remember it !!!!

Brett,
Are you going to take the parts out of your MERC, or try and buy the spare parts to do the job?

In my sentence are the words Golly, Holy, and Crap!

Thats 300 NZ $Kiwi. The whole kit is only $750.00

Hopefully I can start on this new project soon. But I am having a lot of fun with my Tiger upgrades at present 8)

I suggest trolling Evilbay

Hi
Bit unoriginal, but you can pick up a fair range of cheap toy diggers, loaders and trucks which might be good donors from discount toy web sites. Ageed the rx and control servos tend to be highly integrated and hard to adapt, but the mechanicals are more straight forward. Worth a trawl anyway?
Cheers

This is the first set of tracks before assembly. I have decided not to use the steel pins which came with kit, but to replace them with 1/8 inch diameter copper pins.

Image

There are 41 links to a side. Here is track in 10 link lengths. The top length is complete with inserts. the second is complete without inserts.
The third is complete, but uside down. The steel pin is shown in centre with a copper pin.

Image

I would like to fit rubber feet to each link! The part of link that would be in contact with ground is 1/2 inch wide by 1 inch long.

Any suggestions?
