BA Bolt Head Conversion

Post by AndyR » Sun Nov 08, 2009 12:17 am

Gents,

I created this spreadsheet a while ago, and I've only just got round to posting it!!

It outlines all the BA bolt head sizes and then gives an equivalent 1/6th scale across flat (AF) dimension in mm, so if you want to replicate an M8 bolt head (which has a 13mm AF size) then we can cross reference this to it being a BA 12 or 13.

Like many of my projects, I have a great intention to create stuff and post on the web but I never seem to get round to it.......

I would post my torsion bar and leaf spring suspension calculation sheet, but my MathCAD software has expired and so cannot open the files.... I will get that rectified and when I do I'll pdf and post it as well.

Hope you find it of use; I know I've used it a lot.

Don't know, but it appears I can't add any attachments now.

But stuggy a please or thank you wouldn't go amiss

I still have the file and will re-upload when the function has been re-enabled.

Mod, can you re-enable this feature please? Or if prefered I can post the file to you if you want to check it prior to uploading. PM me if you want the file or if you update this feature.

Cheers

Chaps,

I think this might be one of the things that have gone astray when the Forum moved. If need be e-mail me the attachement and I'll get it added again.

Apologies Andy. Perhaps it didn't come across as it did in my mind. It was meant to be a jokey comment. I appreciate the work you've put into these tables which makes things much easier for non engineering types like me who haven't a clue what BA actually means but know what size I'm aiming for. I've alway known it was here but haven't needed it. Now that I will be ordering small scale stuff I found it had gone. Sorry if I offended you in any way.

Fair play stuggy, I haven't taken grave offence, I just see that loads of people have downloaded the file but nobody has provided feedback on it. I'm not looking for plaudits, but some feedback would be appreciated especially if there are ways of improving it.

Humpy, I'll email you the file, can you PM me your email addy.
